The VA Connection: Make Sure You're Worried About What Matters

New and aspiring Virtual Assistants are burdened with concerns…

  • They worry they don’t have enough skills or the skills that will allow them to charge clients a high hourly rate.

  • They think they might be too old or outdated to start a business.

  • They fear that by telling friends and family about their new business, they will have too many clients and be swallowed up by work.

  • They believe that where they live determines how much they can charge.

  • They are concerned success will take them away from their families, and failure will keep them at a job they hate.

  • They wonder if friends and family will judge them harshly and what they’ll say when they learn about their new business.

Instead of realizing that good Virtual Assistants are in high demand and are the solution to many entrepreneurs' problems, they classify themselves as bothering people when telling others about their business.

The problem is not the worried questions. While they’re not helpful, the real problem is that these aspiring VAs aren’t focusing on the most important question they should be concerned with: Am I willing to become the person I need to be to succeed?

Whether success or failure, what shows up in our lives depends on how we think about and interpret what happens in our lives – the point of view we decide to adopt.

If you want to be a successful business owner, serving clients, making money, and enjoying time flexibility, your thoughts and actions must align with the success you want to create.

Worrying about money, complaining that you don’t have enough time, and being frustrated and working on what’s in front of you instead of what’s important will keep you exactly where you are.

To be successful, you’ll need to adopt a new way of looking at your time and activities.

Instead of being concerned about too many clients, not enough clients, and all the rest, here are two questions I want you to ask yourself instead:

How would a successful Virtual Assistant spend their time today?
What would a successful Virtual Assistant do right now?

By taking these questions to heart, answering them, and acting upon them daily, your worry will subside, and success will be inevitable.

While simple, this is not easy. It will require that you look at your life from a new point of view—a point of view filled with opportunities, options, and possibilities.

While this point of view might be new, it’s also exciting and filled with hope. And if you choose, it could be the beginning of your new life—the life you want and deserve. I hope you go for it.
